Aim of the Programme

The Programme aims to introduce Students to the field of the Hotel Administration and all its vital areas, by helping them comprehend, evaluate, analyse and apply specific principles, by providing them with the adequate knowledge and tools for that purpose.

More specifically, it aims to familiarise Students with the different departments within a hotel unit and teach them how to operate hotel services such as, Front Office, Food & Beverage Services and Operations, Customer Service, Housekeeping, Event & Leisure Services properly and efficiently.

The Programme broadens Students’ knowledge through visits to hotels and tourism related businesses.

Furthermore, Students will be able to apply the knowledge they have gained in theory lessons during the compulsory industrial training work placement schemes included in the Programme Structure.

Intended learning outcomes

On completion, Students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the ability to recall, comprehend, and apply effective written and oral communication techniques essential for business and hospitality environments.
  • Achieve a wholistic understanding of hotel operations and identify specific skills and procedures needed in hotel administration.
  • Identify cultural and global perspectives relevant to hospitality and tourism, thereby highlighting the significance of cross-cultural communication within diverse hospitality settings.   
  • Express proficiency in event planning and execution, while also researching into the exploration of business ethics and fundamental principles crucial for effective management.
  • Gain an understanding of core business concepts, economic principles, and marketing strategies relevant to the hospitality industry, and integrating foundational knowledge in accounting, mathematics, and statistics to facilitate informed and strategic business decision-making.
