Research:

I consider myself a tourism scholar that has a keen interest in culture and identity creation. One might assume that I am a Social Anthropologist however; my passion is to explore and understand how individuals interact independently but also as a collective within tourism and hospitality world. I would often observe, and interact with the environment and question on how can we make sense of it and possibly improve it. Specifically, reflecting upon my PHD and various presentations I have given I would argue (that in most part) my academic and research interests are cultural anthropology, identity politics, authenticity and tourism destination development. My thesis focused on Cyprus and the key research areas were collective memory, history education in a comparative context involving the two sides of divided Cyprus.
