Career Development & Progress

Career Development and Progress

CTL Eurocollege is committed to supporting the professional and academic development of its faculty members. The College actively encourages academic staff to engage in research activities, both within CTL Eurocollege and in collaboration with other Higher Education Institutions and research organisations. Participation in scholarly research, publication of research findings, and involvement in externally funded research projects are recognised as integral components of academic career development.

The following academic career progression framework outlines the professional development pathway for CTL Eurocollege faculty. The framework is based on three key parameters:

  1. Academic qualifications;
  2. Teaching experience in Higher Education Institutions; and
  3. Research performance, including scholarly publications, participation in research projects, and success in securing competitive research funding.

These criteria provide a transparent basis for evaluating faculty members’ eligibility for academic promotion and support the College’s commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and academic service.

Evaluation of Faculty for Academic Rank

An internal process has been established for the evaluation of faculty members for academic rank and career advancement. The evaluation is conducted by a committee comprising the Academic Dean, the AF Director, the Head of Research, and one faculty member holding a doctoral degree.

The committee reviews each candidate against the criteria specified for the respective academic rank and prepares a written evaluation report with its recommendations. The assessment considers both the quantity and quality of the candidate’s scholarly output, including publication record, H-index, and the quality and ranking of the academic journals in which the work has appeared. Additional criteria include contributions to the academic and wider community, research initiatives and leadership, peer-review activities, supervision of student research projects and dissertations, and other relevant academic and professional achievements.

Based on the committee’s report and recommendations, the College Management makes the final decision regarding the faculty member’s academic advancement and any associated benefits.
