couvas2007 Graduation

As we sit here this evening, knowing not what lies ahead, but feeling satisfied that we have completed this challenge, we start to wonder. What have we gained from these years studying?

The last 3 years I have spent at this college have been rewarding. Not only regarding the education, but personally believe, in the interaction between students and teachers. A teacher is in a moral responsible position and must enjoy and appreciate and respect students in order to achieve interest and success regarding students and their grades. I have been fortunate to attend classes whereby the teacher is interested in the individual.

When teacher respects, he himself earns respect.
It has also given me the opportunity to interact with pupils of different nationalities and cultures. I have found the college to be tolerant of all nationalities for without tolerance education amounts to nothing. What use is knowledge without a firm balanced foundation, and outlook on life?

These are the tools that are paramount in order for an individual to function at its best. I have found that when my opinion was given, I was listened to and respected. This is a right regarding all individuals irrespective of status, but sadly is not the structure of modern society.

All in all I feel I made the right choice because the college is friendly, safe and fulfils the majority of a students needs.

The question now is how do you go from where you are to where you want to be? I don’t think there is a universal answer to this question, but I do think that you’ll find an answer for yourself once you understand that  even though life may appear to be the highest mountain, you can walk over it taking one step at a time.

Today, let us give thanks to all those who have helped us along the way: our parents for their love and support, our teachers for their dedication and encouragement and to our fellow classmates for their friendship and compassion.

I closing, I would like to leave you with thought. Whether you are graduate or self-taught person, the important things in life are simple. Use you God-given talents to the best of you ability, be honest and kind and make serving others a priority in your life. The most important part to achieving any goal is making the first step.
