BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
4 Years, Bachelor’s of Arts min 126 Credits
The purpose of this programme of study is to introduce students to the business environment and give them an appreciation of all the different aspects of the industry. On completion of the course students will have acquired the necessary knowledge and skills for management positions, demonstrating competence particularly in the core business functional areas of Accounting and Finance, Economics, Management and Marketing.
The programme is academic in nature focusing on theoretical business applications. However, apart from its primary objective being to deliver a holistic view of business education, it further aims to develop the required skills in applying this education in various business job situations.
Apart from students be taught to relate theoretical concepts to practical situations, updates regarding any developments in the business environment, particularly in regards to the issues related with globalization, EU developments, the Internet and technological developments, as well as their effect on business practices will be integrated into the material delivered throughout the programme. The practical application is intended to supplement, support and apply the theory acquired to contemporary aspects of business management in the modern world.
The aims and objectives of the program are:
- To equip students with a strong background in the standard core modules of business administration programs.
- To introduce students to the vital theoretical concepts related to the business industry and expose them to contemporary managerial issues and practices.
- To explain the commercial and general business environment and explain its mechanisms of operation domestically, as well as internationally.
- To develop analytical, as well as problem solving skills used in decision making business situations.
- To equip students with the skills and competences relevant in undertaking industry research, through the completion of projects and assignments embedded in all modules within the program.
- To provide a firm background for a variety of careers in the range of business industry job positions.
- To develop a solid foundation for pursuing further postgraduate education in domestic, as well as foreign educational institutions.
